Simple care guidance for keeping tactile home objects in rotation instead of hidden away: clean gently, dry promptly, protect edges, and let natural materials age with character.
Soft cloth first
No soaking or abrasive pads
Store fragile pieces with space
Care that keeps pieces in use
Ceramic and stone
Use a soft damp cloth for everyday dust and marks, then dry the piece before putting it back. Avoid soaking, abrasive pads, harsh cleaners, and sudden temperature changes that can stress glaze, rims, or natural stone.
Lift from the base instead of a delicate rim
Keep oils, dyes, and standing water away from porous stone
Use felt or cork under heavier pieces on painted surfaces
Brass and metal
Brass will deepen with touch and air. Leave the patina for warmth, or brighten lightly with a dry jewelry cloth when you prefer a cleaner finish.
Avoid water pooling around seams
Keep away from acidic cleaners
Dry after handling if the piece sits in a humid room
Linen, glass, and wood
Spot clean linen with mild soap, air dry flat, and smooth by hand while slightly damp. Hand wash glass when needed and dry with a lint-free cloth. Keep wood away from standing water and refresh unfinished surfaces occasionally with a food-safe oil.
If a piece is used for candles, incense, flowers, or keys, clean the surrounding surface often so residue does not become part of the finish.
